Schull Community College

1.Captain Cathal Keohane visited the school on Thursday 18th December 08 to give a talk on Careers in the Defence Forces (Army) to interested 4th/5th/6th year students.

2.A group of students visited the Better Options Seminar held in U.C.C. on Wednesday 3rd December, with their parents, to learn about the facilities made available at 3rd Level Colleges in Ireland, for assisted learning.

3. 8 of our 6th year students are applying to English Universities for places in 2009. They are busy filling in the UCAS forms, which must be in by 15th January 2009.

4.The majority of our 6th year students are busy researching their future career options, as their application forms for places at 3rd Level Colleges and Universities must be with the CAO by 1st February 2009.

5.The Careers Library is available to students at all times, where all 3rd Level College information is freely available. A dedicated computer is in the library for Careers use and there is access to the Careers Notice Board on the In-house Public Server.

6.Our Guidance Counsellor is available at all times to any student seeking advice or assistance. There is an Open Door policy at Ms. Ni Bhriain's office and students are welcome to drop in at any time during the day.
