Code of Conduct

Students shall show respect and courtesy to all members of staff and to one another. They shall obey the directions of their teachers at all times.

Application to study, punctuality and regularity in attending school, together with participation in all school activities as required, is also expected.

Students are expected to give of their best in class at all times, and to attend to their study and homework conscientiously.

In the case of absence from school, parents should phone and forward a written explanation to the Class Teacher. Permission of Principal, Deputy Principal or Class Teacher must be sought to leave the school premises at any time. If at all possible, medical or dental appointment should be made for times outside of school hours. A roll is taken for each class before the start of the first class each day. An absentee list is sent to the office and any notes from parents will be checked by the class teacher/subject teacher.

Pupils should pay attention to personal neatness and also to tidiness of classroom, corridors, school yard, etc.

Students must respect school property. Accidental damage should be reported immediately to a staff member.

Students are answerable to the School Authorities for any misbehavior outside of school which reflects discredit on the school and they are subject to disciplinary action within the school.

For reasons of health and cleanliness chewing gum is strictly forbidden within the school. In accordance with Health Act regulations smoking is prohibited in the school and its environs.

For serious misconduct, or for continuous misdemeanors, a student may be required to come before the College Discipline Committee, and may be suspended or dismissed from school at any time during the year. In such circumstances the student’s parents will be notified.

Possession of mobile phone or other electronic device is forbidden during school hours.

DRESS CODE – School uniform is a requirement. This consists of:-

GIRLS – Maroon round-neck sweatshirt with crest inset. Light grey or maroon polo shirt with crest inset. Charcoal grey slacks (no cord or denim trousers).

BOYS – Maroon round-neck sweatshirt with crest inset. Light grey or maroon polo shirt with crest inset. Charcoal grey slacks (no cord or denim trousers).

AN OPTIONAL COLLEGE JACKET is also available.

JEWELLERY is restricted to the following:-
HANDS – one ring and one wrist-watch in total.
EARS – one pair of earrings worn, one each in each ear.
FACIAL JEWELLERY is not permitted.

P.E. All students attending P.E. class should have suitable P.E. clothing and non-marking soled P.E. shoes. Any students attending P.E. class without P.E. gear may be assigned other duties.

NOTE it is advisable to attach a tag bearing the student’s name to all items of school.
