MAY 2010
1. The girls U16 Footballers are through to the County Final in their competition!!!! We wish the girls and their trainer Mr. Paul Moriarty, the best of Luck!
2. The French students are in France and their exchange partners will be back on 18th May.
3. Fourth years will have a Safe Pass course and Personal Development day in the college.
4. To end their year, Mr Mc Carthy and Mr Rese are taking the Transition years to Oysterhaven.
5. The leaving certificate class will have their graduation.
6.The LCVP class, is holding a no uniform day, to raise funds for the Schull Inshore Rescue, and also are holding a golf tournament.
7. Ice Cream Friday, is another LCVP project, to raise funds for Down Syndrome Ireland.
8. The boy's U14 football team are training for the County Semi-final next week. Good luck lads.
9. Music students put on a performance each year, to display their talents and the music teacher Diana Llewllyn is telling you to keep May 18th free, to come to the college and hear their pieces.
10. Transition year Agricultural Science are finishing their powerpoint presentations on local food production in the West Cork region. To finish the course, the students are visiting Glenilen Foods and an Alpaca farm, all in Drimoleague.
11. All the practical exams are started and we wish the Leaving certs and the Junior Certs, the best of luck!
12. SPHE/ Religion. First years attended a short talk on the topic of Underage Drinking. Second and third years have also been dealing with this topic in various subjects over the last few weeks. There will be a visit by Damien White, the Juvenile Liasion Officer, with Bantry Gardai, before the end of term to highlight the dangers associated with alcohol.
13. The 5th year Agricultural Science class go to Caherbeg Pig Production and will visit organic vegetable growers in the area.
14 It was with much sorrow, that the College learned of the passing of Ursula Henzler, our German Exchange Co-ordinator from our partner school in FREIGREICHT. More details are on the German Exchange link.
15. A Bord Bia cookery demonstration for 5th and 6th years is to be held in the college this week.
16. Both the Under 14 boys and girls footballers played in their county finals in May. Both teams did extremely well to get to the final!!! Well done and sorry to the teams on their loss.
17. The class of 2010 graduated on May 26th. Good luck in your future lives!!!
